Good job: Mohan and Miliee having a look at the work

of the children at the motivational camp in Semenyih.

More than 100 students from poor families in Puchong and the surrounding areas attended a four-day motivational camp at Kem Setia Ikhlas in Semenyih recently.

The annual camp was sponsored by MIC Youth chief T. Mohan and Kassim Chin Foundation executive director Miliee Kassim.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mohan said the camp had been beneficial to the children and had spurred them to do well in their education.

This year, one boy obtained 7As while another two boys got 5As and 2Bs in the UPSR examainations while several others had got 3As.

Mohan said he would sponsor a desktop computer for any student who scored 7As in this year’s examinations while Millie said she would reward students for each A they obtained.

In his speech, he urged the students, especially the girls not to be taken in by the word of “sugar daddies”.

“I have received many complaints about girls being lured to prostitution by young people who openly flaunt their money,” he said.

Mohan said there were also instances where the girls were forced to follow the youngsters as they had taken pictures of the girls in compromising positions.
